Of course, regency is not a Danish term, but it was at that point in time that the Danish cultural elite fell in love with English culture - oddly, at first, at a time when Denmark and England were at war.

Our visit to Bakkehusmuseet, a preserved old 1900th-century artist home, will introduce you to this Danish cultural elite of in particular writers which were to include world-known Hans Christian Andersen.

A bus ride later, we visit the Ny-Carlsberg Glyptotek for a look at the very particular Danish art of the era - a style that is quite international and uniquely Danish.

The tour ends here, and I recommend that you stay in this museum to take in its other significant collections, including the finest classical Greek and Roman art and excellent pieces by Auguste Rodin.
