Amalienborg.jpg

Why is a country that loves to profile itself as a democracy and home to free speech also a monarchy with a queen who cannot speak her free political mind? One of the oldest monarchies in the world is more popular than ever - 75% of the Danes support it.

On this tour, you get to understand why, as we explore the royal history of especially the last two centuries. First, we will visit The Royal Collections at Amalienborg Palace (where two wings are homes to the queen and the crown prince), and after a walk of approximately 20 minutes, we'll get to visit The Royal Reception Rooms at Christiansborg Palace, after which the tour ends.

In this way, you first get to go behind the scenes into private rooms of the past and get a glimpse into their daily lives. Then, you get to see the most official of Danish Rooms for an insight into for instance state dinners and how the diners sit surrounded by Danish history depicted in magnificent 20th-century tapestries.
