Hampton Court Palace is one of the most splendid and majestic palaces in London. Built in the 1500s by Cardinal Wolsey as a private residence to entertain his friends, the palace was taken over by King Henry VIII in 1528.
The King then embarked on a renovation program, and by the time he finished, the palace was one of the most modern, sophisticated and magnificent in England. There were tennis courts, bowling alleys, recreation gardens, a hunting park, a beautiful chapel, a large dining room (the Great Hall) and a kitchen of 36,000 square feet! Henry VIII's Kitchens at Hampton Court Palace were the largest of Tudor England.
Experience Tudor court dining in the Kings Kitchen, marvel at one of the most impressive Tudor halls in the country, visit a Real Tennis court and relax in over 60 acres of the scenic gardens.
As a Hampton Court Palace Guide, I can tailor your tour according to your interests being that art, history, architecture, or gardening.
