On this tour, we will visit the world famous Art Museum, Prado Museum, with paintings by Raffael, Angelico, Bosch, El Greco, Goya and Velazquez - followed by a footwalk through the nostalgic Literary Quarter, where well-known authors like Cervantes or Lope de Vega lived.
The 200-year-old Prado Museum is one of the most important art collections in the world. We will start our visit by admiring impressive paintings of the Italian School, by painters like Raffael, Angelico, Botticelli, and Titian; followed by the works of outstanding Flemish and Dutch painters such as Van der Weyden or the fascinating and disturbing pictures of Hieronymus Bosch.
On the upper floor we will concentrate on the Spanish School and its most famous representatives; El Greco, Velazquez and of course Goya.
After a short break, we will discover the nearby Literary Quarter, a nostalgic area with small streets and old shops, bars and restaurants. Many well-known authors lived here, like Cervantes, the inventor of Don Quichotte, Lope de Vega, Calderon de la Barca or Gongora.
You also find many theatres here, like the oldest one of Madrid, the Teatro Español on the animated Plaza de Santa Ana. This square, which is full of traditional typical restaurants, is the very heart of this lovely area of the Spanish capital.
