Experience Oslo like a local, and join me for a hike in the hills overlooking Oslo. Take in the most stunning view of the city and fill your lungs with fresh air!
A walk in the forest cures everything. And it's true! This beautiful country provides us with an abundance of mountains, fjords, lakes, valleys and forests, all within reach from the cities.
We start by taking the metro to the top of the hills, to Frognerseteren, a fantastic "cabin" with a surprising architectural style. We can have a coffee there and taste some of their baked goods, but most importantly we will enjoy an incredible view over Oslo.
Then the hike begins; a walk through the forest to a place called Ullevålseter, a cabin in the woods that even Louis Armstrong visited on a cold winter evening in 1959! There we can enjoy a typical Norwegian lunch, a sandwich and a coffee, tea or soda. From Ullevålseter we continue on narrow paths and pass Oslos geographical centre (!) before we reach a lake called Sognsvann and take the metro back down to the city.
During our walk, there will be plenty of time for me to tell you about Norway, our history, Norwegian habits and traditions. And of course, time for you to ask all the questions you might have.
The blue, the green, the city in between!
I promise you this: A mix of history, good stories, fresh air and slightly tiered feet when we are back in the city centre.
